On September 30, a Press conference was given at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai regarding the future release of sci-fi franchise 'Star Trek Beyond'. Was attending more than hundred local and international media, plus including the film's director and producer Justin Lin, executive producer Jeffrey Chernov, writers Douglas Jung and Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba.

Executive producer Jeffrey Chernov said 'Dubai represents the future of what the frontier would be like in our film, & is an excellent place to shoot the movie as well as a special opportunity for all of us. This is not just the third of three movies, but has a new, refreshing twist, & Dubai's great visuals really fit the story.'
He also said ''Mission impossible Four' showed how movies can help tourism, and help cities grow and develop, which in turn helps filmmakers. We want to help future filmmakers and emerging talent, and we have interns working across every department of the movie, testament to our enthousiasm and commitment about the industry here, as well as Emirati talent.'

Dubai Film and TV Commission announced that 'Star Trek Beyond' will film scenes in Dubai during 13 days, starting from October 1. They are currently filming at the Sound Stages in Dubai Studio City as well as key indoor and outdoor locations, throughout the city.
